State police said a Wexford woman, who is charged with alleged purse thefts from four Fayette County women, was arrested Wednesday.

Police said Jenna Jane Herbert, 27, was charged with four counts of theft, two counts of forgery, three counts of access device fraud.

Herbert allegedly stole a total of $7,800 in cash, unauthorized credit transactions, gift cards and other property, police alleged.

State police said Adams County police arrested Herbert. She was arraigned by Fayette County Magisterial District Judge Wendy Dennis. According to court documents, Herbert’s bond for all charges was set at $45,000, and she was taken to Fayette County Prison.

Between Feb. 27 and March 20, Herbert allegedly stole purses from women at Pechins Market in Dunbar Township, Target in South Union Township and the Giant Eagle in Uniontown.

Police said the victims were Susan Jo Nagy and Julie Ann Cappellini, both of Uniontown, Melissa Ann Humberson of Friendsville, Md., and Marlene Kay Faust of Connellsville.

Herbert used credit cards allegedly stolen from the women at several businesses in Fayette County, Trooper James A. Pierce said.

Police said Faust’s purse was recovered from a Sheetz store in Brockway.

Herbert will be arraigned at a later date.
