Arritta “Ret” (Smitley) Jenkins
Arritta “Ret” (Smitley) Jenkins, age 86, Georges Township, Smithfield, Pa passed away and went to be with her Lord Jesus on Saturday, April 5, 2014 while being cared for by her loving family.
Arritta was born on Monday, December 5, 1927 in Outcrop, Fayette County, Pennsylvania.
‘Ret’ was an Apostolic by faith and was a member of Crusade for Jesus Apostolic Church in Springhill Township, Fayette County, Pa.
She was a very loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking, reading her Bible and especially spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Buell T. Smitley and Elizabeth (Hiles) Smitley; her husband, Arlen Allen “Jake” Jenkins; daughter Marqretta J e n k i n s; grandchild, Jesse Ronald Cummings; brothers, Edgar Smitley, Thomas Smitley, Andrew Smitley; and a sister, Dorothy (Smitley) Cummings.
Surviving are her four children: Shirley and Jess Cummings, Lambert Pa., Robert A. Jenkins and Betsy, Smithfield, Pa Juanita Jenkins Hart, Smithfield, Pa., Rex and Cindy Jenkins, Shoaf, Pa. grandchildren: R o n n i e C u m m i n g s, Tammy Cummings, D e b b i e C o l d r e n, Bobbi Jo Jenkins, Heather Jenkins Robbi Jenkins, Melissa Jordan, Tonya Jordan, J a k e Jenkins, Annie Hodar, Rex Opel and Dawn Mansberry; eleven great grandchildren and ten great great grand children; two siblings: Claudine Lincoln of Smithfield, Pa., Paul and Judy Smitley of Point Marion, Pa.; many nieces and nephews; and her special companion pet, Sparky.
The family will greet friends and family in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., Tuesday 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday, April 10, 2014 until 11:00 a.m., the hour of Service with Rev. Elliot Leighty officiating.
Interment will follow in Mount Moriah Baptist Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa
