Carole Kenneweg Provance

Carole (Kenneweg) Provance, age 79, of Brownsville, Pa., passed away Saturday, April 5, 2014 in the UPMC Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa.

Carole was born on Thursday, November 15, 1934 in Brownsville, Pa., the daughter of Earl Kenneweg and Leathe (Ward) Kenneweg.

Carole graduated from Brownsville High School, Class of 1952, and was active in all high school class reunions.

She was employed by Bell of Pennsylvania, Bell Atlantic and Verizon for forty-three years plus an additional thirteen years as a Consultant.

She was a member of the former First Baptist Church of Brownsville, Brownsville Business and Professional Women (BPW), Brownsville Band Boosters, and the Telephone Pioneers.

She enjoyed traveling —– especially with her grandsons, daughters, and friends, Mary and Donna. She traveled to Western Europe, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the United States.

She enjoyed 50 years vacationing in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware with her entire family.

Carole was an avid fan of her favorite teams: the Pittsburgh Steelers, Old Dominion University Duke, and South Fayette High School Football.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Earl Kenneweg Jr.; and nephew, Karl Christopher Kenneweg.

Carole is survived by her two very devoted daughters: Kimberly Onesko and husband Robert of Penncraft, Pa., and Sherri Sutherland and husband Doug of Virginia Beach, Virginia; six grandsons: Jeremy Onesko and wife Mari of Los Angeles, California, M a r k Podolinsky of Virginia Beach, Virginia, B e n j a m i n Onesko of Arlington, Virginia, D r a k e Podolinsky of Chicago, Illinois, Patrick Onesko of Penncraft, Pa., and Shaun Sutherland of Virginia Beach, Virginia; her devoted sister-in-law, Barbara Kenneweg of Virginia Beach, Virginia; two aunts: June Herceg and Matilda Kenneweg; nephews: Earl Kenneweg and his wife Sharon of Poolesville, Maryland, Eric Kenneweg of Vienna Virginia; niece, Anna Dailey and husband Scott of Lee Valley, Maryland; great nieces: Megan and Sarah Kenneweg, Kaitlyn Dailey; great nephew, Austin Dailey; special cousins: Marlene Hardy and Joyce Visco.

Friends will be received in the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME, 515 Front Street, Brownsville, Pa.

A Celebration of Carole’s life will be held Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at 11 a.m. at PENNCRAFT COMMUNITY CENTER. S e r v i c e s w i l l b e conducted by Reverend James Engel.

A private interment will be in the LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.

Donations in lieu of any other gifts can be made in Carole’s name to the Brownsville Public Library, 100 Seneca St., Brownsville, PA 15417.
