East Millsboro man charged with alleged assault on police officer
State police said an East Millsboro man has been charged with aggravated assault after allegedly spitting on a police officer.
Brandon Lee Crossland, 30, was charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, resisting arrest, two counts of harassment, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness, according to the criminal complaint.
The complaint said while Crossland was seated in the back of a Redstone Township police car, he allegedly asked police to take him to another residence. When police refused, the complaint said, Crossland asked them to take him to jail.
The complaint alleged Crossland shouted obscenities at police, leaned forward and allegedly spit on a police officer’s shirt.
While police removed Crossland from the car, he allegedly flailed about and tried to kick officers, the complaint said.
The complaint said Crossland allegedly made threatening statements about how he would use his ties to the mafia that allegedly included blowing up the Redstone Police Department.
When Crossland was placed inside a police vehicle, he allegedly tried to kick out the rear window, but was unsuccessful, police said. The complaint said Crossland allegedly threatened a police officer while being taken into police custody.
Crossland will face a preliminary hearing on April 14 before Magisterial District Judge Mike Defino Jr.
