LAKE LYNN
Carl H. Moats Sr., age 72, Lake Lynn, Pa., died Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown.
Born in Lake Lynn on Sunday, January 11, 1942 in the home in which he was currently residing, he was a son of the late Lloyd Moats and Marie (Clark) Moats.
A 1961 graduate of Albert Gallatin High School, he was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict with United States Army.
Carl retired from Emerald Mine a f t e r 29 years as a Coal Miner.
He was a member of the Oak Grove Church of Christ, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, 40/8, and FOE all of Point Marion, the AMVETS of Hopwood, and the United Mine Workers of America.
Carl was always willing to help out anyone at anytime.
Surviving are his wife, Glenda (Smith) Moats; a son, Carl Moats Jr. of Mount Airy, Maryland; grandchildren: Bethany, Malia and Ryan; step children: Glen Zinn and Angela Elms; a sister, Mary Jordan of Point Marion, Pa.; brothers: Archie Moats, Smithfield, Pa., and Odus Moats of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and a number of loving nieces and nephews.
Deceased are his parents; sisters, Sarah Moats, Helen in infancy; brothers George, William and Arthur Moats.
Friends will be received in RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, Pa today from 7 to 9 p.m., Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, April 15, 2014 until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with his minister, Brian Young, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Little Arlington Section of Evergreen Memorial Park, Point Marion, with Military Honors by the Point Marion Veterans Posts.
