Just another viewer…

This week I have been extremely busy, but not television busy.

My day job with the Boy Scouts of America took two of my evenings, Rotary commitments another, and the upcoming Pennsylvania Literary Festival laid claim to one night as well.

At the same time I was sitting in meetings, my colleague and Fayette TV team leader Dave Slusarick was out in the field filming a variety of shows that will air this coming week, and I am excited because my lack of camera operation as of late makes me “just another viewer” when these programs air.

On Monday, April 14 at noon and 9 p.m., you will be able to watch the recent Community Awareness Panel hosted by the Crime Victims’ Center and Children and Youth Services. The event took place last Monday at Penn State Fayette, the Eberly Campus and featured speakers David J. Hickton (U.S. Attorney) and Anne Rackow (of the Project to End Human Trafficking). Some years ago I attended a seminar at West Virginia University on Human Trafficking in the United States and my eyes were opened. I would encourage you to tune in with me on Monday as we further our education together.

On Tuesday, April 15 at noon and 9:30 p.m, Sharon Hachman of the Diocese of Pittsburgh, who was a part of the ongoing Joy of the Gospel speaker series, will talk about sharing the mission of the church, a great preparation for those who will celebrate Easter this week. Our friends at Valentine Pharmacy and Twins Treats are making this broadcast possible.

On Wednesday, April 16 at noon and 9 p.m., viewers will experience the Fayette Chamber of Commerce’s annual Student of the Month dinner that took place last Thursday evening. Students from all six county school districts, as well as our county’s parochial high school were recognized at the event.

On Thursday, April 17 at noon and 9 p.m., those tuned into Atlantic Broadband 77 will be unable to keep from smiling as the students of St. John the Evangelist Regional Catholic School herald in the flowers and warm weather with their spring program. We thank the Knights of Columbus and insurance agent James “Bear” Baranowski for their sponsorship of this program.

A week full of new programing is on the horizon. I have stocked up on popcorn and pretzels and will be enjoying four evenings of new programing from the comfort of my own living room. Won’t you join me? (Virtually, of course! Tune in to Atlantic Broadband channel 77 and Tweet your comments to @FayetteTV and we will be sure to answer.)
