Four injured in two separate accidents
There are reports that four people were injured in two unrelated accidents involving motorcycles Sunday afternoon on Summit Mountain east of Uniontown.
The first accident occurred around 2:20 p.m. on Bruceton Mill Road in Henry Clay Township. According to Fayette County 911, that accident involved two motorcycles and an all-terrain vehicle.
According to Eric Funk, the commander at Markleysburg EMS, one person was flown by medical helicopter from the scene to UPMC Presbyterian with apparent abdominal injuries.
Two other people were taken to Uniontown Hospital by ambulance with minor injuries, Funk said.
Emergency personnel from the Markleysburg/Henry Clay Township Volunteer Fire Department, Markleysburg EMS and Fayette EMS were on the scene for about an hour.
The second accident occurred shortly before 3 p.m. on Route 40 westbound near the old watering trough. According to Fayette County 911, that accident involved a single motorcycle. One person was flown from the scene to a Pittsburgh hospital. Hopwood Volunteer Fire Department and Fayette EMS responded to the scene.
Pennsylvania State Police at Uniontown are investigating both accidents.
No details on the cause of the accidents or those involved was available Sunday.
