Brooke Murray

The Education Council of the Fayette Chamber of Commerce honored Brooke Murray of Grindstone as a Student of the Month for March.

A junior at Brownsville Area High School, Murray is involved in school activities that include Interact Club, Student Council, Tri-Hi-Y, The Future is Mine, track and field, and French National Honor Society. She is a member of the Fayette County 4.0 Club, an alumni of the 2013 Southwest Pennsylvania Health Education Center Summer Health Career Academy and has been honored as Falcon of the Month. Additionally, she has been awarded first place in the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science Regional Competition and first place in the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science State Competition.

Outside of school, Murray has work experience babysitting and has volunteered for the Brownsville Light Up Night and the Children and Youth Service Christmas Party.

Murray plans to attend Duquesne University to study nursing, with the goal of becoming a nurse practitioner. She is a daughter of Terry and Fern Murray.

The chamber’s Student of the Month program selects students based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities and citizenship.
