Beatrice P. (West) Craft
Beatrice P. West Craft, age 96, of Uniontown, Pa. passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014 in Hillside Manor Personal Care Home.
She was born December 29, 1917 in New Geneva, Pa., daughter of Woodford West and Vada (Mallory) West
In addition to her pa-rents, Beatrice was preceded in death by a son Thomas Craft; a brother, Morgan West; a sister, Dorothy Langley.
Beatrice was a direct descendent of Revolutionary War hero William Lyons of Fayette County.
Beatrice graduated from Masontown High School, Class of 1935.
She worked as a Teacher’s Aide at the Adult Learning Center and the West Leisenring School.
She also worked as a Formal Dining Room Waitress for Meloni’s, Bratton’s, Mount Vernon Inn, The Venetian, and Dulaney’s restaurants.
Beatrice was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church of Fairchance.
She enjoyed raising beautiful flowers and playing bingo.
Left to cherish Beatrice’s memory are her children: Edward Craft and wife Pat of Middletown, Virginia, Mylove Pallo and her husband Rich of Sarasota, Florida, Bonnie Whitby and husband Larry of Uniontown, Pa., Curt Craft of Uniontown, Pa., and Timothy Craft of Gaffney, South Carolina; eight grandchildren: Drew Craft, Thomas Craft, Macie Davis, Ben Whitby, Caroline Passerrello, Corey Craft, Rachel and Ryan Craft; six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, Pa., where family and friends will be received today, April 27th, from 2:00 until 7:00 p.m. and Monday, April 28th, from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. followed by a Service celebrating Beatrice’s life at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Nicholas J. Cook officiating.
Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
