A Connellsville man, who is charged with allegedly robbing a pizza delivery driver, was arrested again for allegedly assaulting his mother.

Connellsville police charged Cody Allen Darrell, 19, of 1005 Aetna St., with two counts of aggravated assault, three counts of simple assault, two counts of resisting arrest and assault by a prisoner.

Police allege that when they arrived Thursday at the home Cody Darrell shares with his mother, Carla, she lifted her shirt to show a large abrasion to her rib cage. She allegedly told police that she wanted her son “gone” and to “take him.”

The criminal complaint said Cody Darrell allegedly resisted arrest and that he allegedly tried bit a police officer.

Police allege that as Cody Darrell fought with police, he allegedly spit in one officer’s face before he being apprehended.

The complaint said a Connellsville police officer required medical treatment because of minor injuries sustained during the alleged altercation.

Police allege that while Cody Darrell was in police custody, he apologized for spitting on police, disrespecting them and giving them a hard time.

Fayette County Magisterial District Judge Ron Haggerty Jr. set Cody Darrell’s bond at $75,000 cash.

He was taken to Fayette County Prison.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 1 in Haggerty’s courtroom.

Cody Darrell had been free on a $30,000 bond for robbery charges involving a pizza delivery driver.

According to the complaint, Cody Darrell allegedly conspired with two adults and two juveniles to rob a Domino’s pizza driver Jan. 15 on Perry Street. When the delivery man — David Garcia — arrived, he was allegedly held at gunpoint before he was allegedly robbed of $100 and pizza, pop and other food.

According to the criminal complaint, Darrell was charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, theft and receiving stolen property.

His pretrial hearing will be in July in Fayette County Court of Common Pleas.
