Curtis W. Smyth
Curtis W. Smyth, age 71 of Point Marion, Pa., passed away at home on Monday, April 28, 2014 with his family by his side.
Curtis was born on Friday, July 24, 1942 in Morgantown, West Virginia beloved son of Minor Smyth and Hallie (Vannoy) Smyth.
‘Curt’ was owner and operator of C. W. Smyth Auto Body Repair in Point Marion for 45 years.
He was a 50-year member of the Point Marion Volunteer Fire Department.
He was a member of Point Marion Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1932, a social member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 747 and the American Legion Post 499 both in Point Marion, and member of the Point Marion Golf League.
He was an avid golfer, hunter, and fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Gregory Smyth; his sister, Doris Remley
He is survived by his wife Karen (Lytle) Smyth with whom had just celebrated 52 years of marriage on April 14; his son, Jeffrey Smyth and wife Lisa of Point Marion: two sisters, June Straight and husband Roger, and Janet Fagula, two brothers, Francis Smyth and his wife Charlotte, and Ronald Smyth, and a brother-in-law, Junior Remley all of Morgantown, West Virginia; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Friends will be received in the LOUIS E. RUDOLPH FUNERAL HOME, T h o m a s B. R u d o l p h, Funeral Director and Supervisor, 15 Main Street, Point Marion, Pa., Thursday, May 1, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. and on Friday, May 2, 2014 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., the hour of Service. Rev. Beverly Roscoe will officiate.
Interment will be private (for family only).
The Point Marion V o l u n t e e r F i r e Department will hold Services in funeral home on Thursday at 7 p.m.
