Douglas Kirk “Doug” Hice
Douglas Kirk Hice, age 53, Uniontown, Pa., passed away on Sunday morning, August 3, 2014, resting peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family after a two month illness.
He was born Thursday, August 3, 1961 the son of Dirl Hice and Dorothy (Linderman) Hice in Uniontown, Pennsylvania
Doug survived a near fatal accident at the age of fourteen and went on to live a happy life filled with many great times with his family.
Doug shared a very special relationship with his two nephews, ‘Joey’ Hice and Joey’s sibling Nicole and Justin Hice.
Family gatherings were always a regular at his home, which he shared with his brother Joe Hice and sister-in-law Connie. Joe and Doug shared a lifelong bond.
Doug never missed an opportunity to sit down and play cards with anyone.
We will forever hold his memory close to our hearts.
He was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Barbara ‘Bobbi’ Hice; a niece, Lauren Kara Hice.
He is survived by these sisters and brothers: Eva M. Howard and husband Norman ‘Champ’, Linda R. Zaksek, Wilma D. Yauger, Delores A. Kolarik, John Hice and wife Susan, and Richard L. Hice all of Uniontown, Pa., Anna M. Long and her husband Dennis of Monett, Missouri, and Joseph C. Hice and wife Connie of Uniontown (with whom he made his home); one aunt, Connie Wing of Cleveland, Ohio; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Friends will be received in DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, HOPWOOD, Pa., on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Private Services will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2014.
Interment will follow in the Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa
