Carnival worker charged

1 min read

State police said a carnival games worker at the Fayette County Fair was charged with providing false identification to law enforcement and hindering apprehension.

Police said after being dispatched to the fair July 29 to investigate an assault, they took into custody a suspect for further questioning – Joseph Jaron Pounds, 21, of Ellwood City. Pounds has not been charged with offenses related to the assault.

After Pounds was released, police learned that he allegedly provided a wrong name and date of birth, police said.

During the course of an investigation, police learned that Pounds was wanted for two separate charges in Butler and Beaver counties.

Pounds was arraigned July 29 before Magisterial Senior Judge Brenda Cavalcante, who set his bond at $50,000. He remains in Fayette County Prison.
