Garnet Louise (Whetzel) Malinzak

Garnet Louise (Whetzel) Malinzak passed from this life on Monday, August 18, 2014 with her loving, devoted children at her side.
She was born Sunday, November 1, 1925 to parents Earl Whetzel and Edna (Hager) Whetzel of Uniontown, Pennsylvania
Garnet graduated from Uniontown High School.
Garnet made her career of raising her family, having a busy family life and always being available when someone needed her.
She was a very loving mother and grandmother
She enjoyed many activities in life, but her weekly trips to the casino were her favorite.
Garnet was the TV lady at Uniontown Hospital for 27 years. Everyone knew Garnet and her favorite perfume wherever she went. She loved visiting the patients and made many lasting friendships there. She was always running in at night and holidays to turn on TVs for her new arrivals. She often said that this was the best time of her life. She loved being able to help people!
Garnet was the last survivor of eight children in her family. She was predeceased by brothers, Charles, Bill, Harry and Earl ‘Bud’ Whetzel, and sisters, Dorothy Young, Betty Coughenour, Alice Mienhart, Ruth Groppi; and by two sons-in-law, Joseph Bieniek and Tony Johnson; and a dear friend, Walter Smith.
Left to cherish her memory are her three children: Judith Johnson and husband Fred McMullen, Sandra L. Bieniek, Dale Malinzak and close friend Cindy Gaydos; her beloved grandsons: Christopher A. Johnson, Eric Bieniek and his wife Joanna, Jonathan Bieniek and Dale E. Malinzak; her three adorable great grandchildren: Ella, Marlee and Joey Bieniek; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, HOPWOOD, Pa., Wednesday, August 20, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, August 21, 2014 until 10:00 a.m.
A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, North Mount Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, with Monsignor J. Edward McCullough as Celebrant
Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa
Parish Wake Service will be held in Funeral Home on Wednesday at 6:45 p.m.
