Connellsville police officers gather evidence at the scene of a shooting at 312 E. Patterson Avenue that left one person severely injured and another in police custody.

CONNELSVILLE — A Connellsville man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that sent another man to the hospital Tuesday on East Patterson Avenue.

Connellsville police Chief James Capitos said that John Wrote, 66 allegedly shot the man once with a shotgun then again as the man ran away.

Capitos said a third shot sprayed an occupied house nearby.

Fayette County 911 reported the incident occured around 5:41 p.m. at a residence within at 312 East Patterson Avenue in the southside of Connellsville.

Police have charged Wrote with attempted criminal homicide and three counts of reckless endangerment.

He was arraigned Tuesday night and taken to Fayette County Prison.

Police said the case remains under investigation.
