Uniontown police have identified the two suspects taken into custody Friday for allegedly robbing the PNC Bank office in the Uniontown Shopping Center earlier in the day.

City police Lt. Tom Kolencik said Kendell Johnson, 32, and Alice Bechtol, 33, both of McClellandtown were arrested in connection with the robbery.

Kolencik said police are in the process of charging the two suspects.

State police vehicles brought Johnson and Bechtol to the Fayette County Booking Center in Uniontown shortly before 5 p.m. Friday.

Kolencik said two suspects entered the PNC Bank on Morgantown Road shortly after 9 a.m. Friday, were given an undisclosed amount of money and fled on foot.

The suspects, Kolencik said, turned themselves in to police, who apprehended the suspects without incident at Johnny Kondrla’s Karlyn Motel on Route 119 in Georges Township, where they walked following the robbery, roughly 3.3 miles from the bank.
