Frances (Soukup) Plishka
Frances (Soukup) Plishka, age 84, of Smithfield, Pennsylvania died in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia on Sunday, December 7, 2014.
Born Sunday, February 9, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois she was a daughter of the late John and Rose Soukup.
A graduate of Mapletown High School, she was a member of Saint Mary Assumption Byzantine Catholic Church, New Salem, Pa., and also the Masontown Historical Society.
Frances had formerly worked as a Seamstress at the Berkowitz Shirt Factory.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Plishka on Tuesday, February 25, 2014; and by a sister, Mary Ann.
Surviving are her two children: John M. Plishka and wife Erika of Elkins, West Virginia and Anna Mary Stevens of Philadelphia; four grand children: Angela Stevens and Cassie, Lydia and Joel Plishka; a brother, Joseph of Baltimore, Maryland; and two sisters: Violet Gisler of DesPlaines, Illinois and Martha Pierce, Erie, Pa.
The family will receive friends at the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday, December 11, until 1:30 p.m., the hour of Service with Rev. Father Jerome G. Bosko officiating.
