Hermina (Prah) Cervenak

Hermina (Prah) Cervenak passed away peacefully on Monday, December 8, 2014 with her family by her side at Mount Macrina Manor. She was 88.
Hermina was born on September 8, The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and passed away on December 8, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
In addition to her parents, Joseph and Mary Prah of Uniontown, Hermina was preceded in death by two brothers, John Prah and Dr. Joseph Prah, D.D.S., and three sisters, Caroline Patchan, Ann Kell e y and Helen Locke.
She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Thomas Cervenak; two sisters: Frances Carter of North Carolina and Mary Jane Shay of Washington, D.C.; a very special niece, Veronica Horvath and husband Andrew and their son Mark all of Uniontown, Pa.; and many other nieces and nephews.
Hermina was a long time member of Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown. She was an active member of The Christian Mothers and volunteered at the Saint Vincent DePaul Store for many years.
She was employed at Associates Finance Company in Uniontown and also Pittsburgh.
Hermina enjoyed a trip to Paris, France and Medjugorje, Bosnia, but her best vacations were with her siblings and their spouses at Bethany Beach Delaware for over 40 years.
The family would like to thank the Registered Nurses, the Licensed Practical Nurses, and Nursing Assistants at Mount Macrina Manor for their kindness and compassionate care dring Hermina’s stay.
Friends will be received in STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown Pa., today from 6 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday, December 13, 2014 until 11:15 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.
A Funeral Mass will follow at 12 Noon in Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 50 Jefferson Street, with Rev. Father James D. Tringhese as Celebrant.
Interment will follow at Mount Saint Macrina Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa
