Shirley Ann (McLaughlin) Balas
Shirley Ann (McLaughlin) Balas, age 78, of Smithfield, Pa., passed away Thursday, December 11, 2014 in the Cloverdale Personal Care Home, Masontown, Pa.
She was born Tuesday, December 24, 1935 in Wharton Township, Fayette County, Pa., the daughter of William ‘Bill’ McLaughlin and Pearl (Dunham) McLaughlin.
Shirley was a member of the Glendale Baptist Church.
She worked most of her life as a homemaker.
She loved animals, especially her beloved pets.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Bill Mclaughlin.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 43 years, Charles E. Balas; brother Don Mclaughlin; sister, Valetta Goodwin; many nieces and nephews and their families.
Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., 515 North Main Street, Masontown, Pa., today, December 12, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday, December 13, 2014 until 9 a.m. when the Prayers of Transfer will be said.
The Funeral Mass will follow at 9:30 a.m. at the Saint Francis of Assisi Parish, 101 South Washington Street, Masontown, Pa., with Rev. Father William G. Berkey as Celebrant.
Interment will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Leckrone, Pa.
