Fire destroys home in Bullskin Twp.
Firefighters battled a blaze Tuesday that left a family homeless in Bullskin Township.
Fayette County 911 said the fire was reported around 4 p.m. at 939 Pleasant Valley Road.
“Everybody got out safe, except for maybe the family’s cat,” said Fire Chief Joe Liska, Bullskin Township Volunteer Fire Department.
The family’s name was not immediately available to the media before press time.
Liska said Pleasant Valley Road is very narrow, so firefighters had a tough time.
“It was hard to get to the fire because the road wasn’t as wide as we needed for the trucks,” he said.
State police fire marshal’s office has been contacted.
Liska said the fire appears to be accidental in nature. He said because of the fire, the home was gutted on the inside — a total loss.
Bullskin VFD was assisted on scene by Connellsville Township, Mount Pleasant, Scottsdale and Everson fire departments.
