Most charges were dismissed Tuesday against a Connellsville trio state police accused of robbing a woman at the Ice Mine in Dunbar Township.

Police allege that Tiffany Miller, no address provided, was approached by Robert Hunter Jr., 20, and Kelly Rae Bageant, 19, and Sean Michael Ruby, 23, who allegedly choked her while she was inside her vehicle around 5 p.m. Nov. 17 in the Ice Mine’s parking lot.

The criminal complaint said that after Miller was robbed of her personal belongings by Hunter and Bageant and tried to exit her vehicle, she was allegedly assaulted by Hunter and Bageant.

Police allege Hunter struck Miller with his vehicle while attempting to flee the scene.

During the trio’s hearing Tuesday before Magisterial District Judge Wendy D. Dennis, Assistant District Attorney Doug Sepic said Miller decided not to move forward with the case, so the robbery and assault charges were dismissed against Bageant, Ruby and Hunter. However, the theft charges against each member of the trio remain and were waived to Fayette County Court, Sepic said.

According to court documents, Bageant and Ruby were initially charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, simple assault and theft while Hunter was initially charged aggravated assault, theft, robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.
