Dorothy D. (Smitley) Stefanick, age 82, of Dunbar, Pennsylvania passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2014 in the Uniontown Hospital.

She was born Sunday, November 20, 1932 in Dunbar, Pennsylvania the daughter of Abraham L. Smitley and Mary Jane (James) Smitley.

Dorothy was a member of Franklin Memorial Methodist Church, 54 Bridge Street, Dunbar

She was the owner and operator of Stefanick’s Restaurant in Dunbar from 1966 to 2012. Dorothy enjoyed cooking, baking, and socializing with customers and friends throughout the years.

Dorothy was a loving mother and grandmother

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her parents; a brother, Lawrence Smitley; and five sisters, Gertie Kolat, Betty J. Duckworth, Jean Rodgers, Ruth Hammett, and Phyllis Tedesco.

Dorothy is survived by three daughters: Barbara Ann Mongell and husband Francis of Connellsville, Pa., Betty Whipkey and husband Tony of Dunbar, Pa., and Katherine Uglik and husband Frank of Masontown, Pa.; a son, Terry Stefanick and wife Mary Kay of Dunbar, Pa; a granddaughter, Ashley Robinson and husband Matt of Belle Vernon, Pa; and a grandson, Kevin Uglik and wife Danielle of Masontown, Pa.

Friends will be received in the VITO C. MARTUCCI FUNERAL HOME, 123 South First Street, West Side, Connellsville, PA 15425 (724.628.9033) today from Noon to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., the hour of Service. Pastor Dave Ealy will officiate.

Interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville, Pa.
