Irene Josephine Alexander Dolfi
Irene Josephine (Alexander) Dolfi, L.P.N. age 88, Masontown, Pa., passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at the Uniontown Hospital.
She was born in Smock, Pa., November 23, 1925 the daughter of John Alexander and Hedwig (Valcovic) Alexander.
Irene graduated from Masontown High School, Class of 1943, then studied and became a Licensed Practical Nurse
She worked with her husband Ferdinand in the Dolfi family business.
Irene was a member of Saint Francis of Assisi Parish and the former All Saints Church in Masontown, Christian Mothers, All Saints and Saint Francis of Assisi Parish choirs, the Italian Ladies Circle, and the ‘Early Bird’ Bowling League at Manor Lanes in Hopwood, and played cards at the Masontown Senior Citizens.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Ferdinand A. Dolfi Sr.; sisters and brothers: H e l e n (Alexander) Jablonsky, J o s e p h Alexander, W i l l i a m Alexander, Katherine (Alexander) G r i f f i n, Raymond Alexander and F r a n c e s Alexander. Irene was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Ferdinand A. Dolfi Jr. and his wife Susan of Waynesburg, Pa.; grand children: Anne Marie Rizaldy and husband Ryan, Morgantown, West Virginia, Adam Michael Dolfi and wife Alisa of Oxford, Ohio; two sisters-in-law: Virginia Tassone and Nancy Zapotosky and husband John all of Masontown, Pa.; several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR. FUNERAL HOME, 7 River Ave., Masontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday, February 3, 2014 until 9:30 a.m. when a Prayer Service will be held in Funeral Home Chapel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in the Saint Francis of Assisi Parish Church, 101 West Church Avenue Masontown, Pa., with Rev. Father William G. Berkey as Celebrant.
Private interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery Masontown, Pa.
Christian Mothers and Italian Ladies will recite the Rosary in the Funeral Home today at 3:30 p.m.
