Shirley Ponzuric Collins . AUGUINE,
Shirley (Ponzuric) Collins, formerly of Uniontown, Pennsylvania and most recently of St. Augustine, Florida passed away after lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born October 12, 1929 the daughter of John Ponzuric and Anna (Smail) Ponzuric, who preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Alton R. Sasser.
Shirley graduated in 1947 from Uniontown High School.
She worked 20 years for the Fayette Bank in Uniontown before beginning a new career with the Federal government at Fort George G. Meade near Odenton, Maryland. She retired from federal service October 1992, relocated to Emmitsburg, Maryland, and spent her time doting on her grandchildren, Josef and Mikel, and her many friends at Lincoln on the Park.
Shirley is survived by her son, Mark Collins and his wife Wenmei Shu of St. Augustine, Florida; daughter, Lynn (Collins) Sasser and her fiancé Richard Laderoute of Odenton, Maryland; daughter, Kimberly (Collins) Wildasin and her husband Stephen of Thurmont, Maryland; and grandchildren: Josef Wildasin, Mikel Wildasin and Bijin Liu Collins.
Shirley was one of fourteen children and is survived by one brother, Hazen Ponzurick of Uniontown, Pa.; two very dear sisters-in-law: Helen Ponzurick and Martha Ponzurick; many nieces and nephews.
Her wishes for a very quiet and private passing are being observed by the family.
