Jacob M. ‘Jake’ Darnell 52, died Friday February 7, 2014 at his home.

Born on November 13, 1961, the son of Charles Ross and Sarah (Darnell) Ross, he was raised in Gans, Pa., by Albert and Shirley Darnell.

Formerly employed as a Chef at Duck Hollow Golf Course, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and working on cars.

Surviving are his wife, Melodie (Smith) Darnell; four daughters: Danielle Gutierrez, Deborah Lauzon, Shannon Moore, Heather Darnell; eight grandchildren: Claudia, Silvestre, B r i a n n a, Natalie, M i k e y l a, Mikey III, Megan and Blake; brothers: Randy and Wayne ‘Tuffy’; 11 sisters: Regina, Debbie, B r e n d a, Margaret, Donna, Bonnie, LouAnn, Cathy, Betsy, Sarah, Amanda;and many loving nieces and nephews.

Deceased is a son, Peter.

Friends will be received in RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, Pa Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, February 12 from 10 to 11 a.m., the hour of Service, Pastor Ernie Dodson officiating.
