Annabel Franks
Annabel Franks age 97 of Brownsville, PA died on Monday, February 10, 2014, surrounded by her loving family and friends.
She was born on December 26, 1916 in Brownsville, PA.
She was the daughter of the late John and Anna Rompilla Tarby.
She was a last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was a member of the Historic Church of St. Peter of Brownsville, PA where she was the longest member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court 1141 with 68 years of membership.
Past member of the Christian Mothers Brownsville Women Democrat Club Center in the Woods And worked at Republic Sportswear.
She graduated from Brownsville High School class of 1935 with her husband Larry.
She married Larry on December 17, 1943, and celebrated 51 years of marriage.
She was predeceased by her Husband: Larry A. Franks; Son-in-law: John J. Arminas; Brothers: John, Tom and George Tarby; Sisters: Catherine Luda, Mary Ohrin, Suzanne Hradisky, Helen Swaney, Pauline Myers, Theodora Kallock, Betty O’Keefe; Sister-in-law: Mary Smith.
She is survived by two Children: JoAnn Arminas of Uniontown, Larry A. Franks and wife Renee of Brownsville; Loving and devoted Grandchildren: Lara Bezjak and husband Carl of Uniontown; John J. Arminas and wife Jessica of Mt. Lebanon; Kate Franks of Brownsville;Larry Franks and Natalie of Brownsville. Fondly remembered as Grammy by great grandchildren: Allyn and Bryn Bezjak, Jake and Elle Arminas.
She is also survived by loving family members devoted niece, Dana Fayock, Geraldine Garfunkel, Charlotte Bingam, Ronald and Mary Catherine Luda, Joseph and Brenda Misenko and many other nieces and nephews.
Known lovingly as Aunt Annabel to Michael and Annette Smith, Francis and Jeanine Smith, Larry and Marcia Smith
And very special friends: Dorothy Marks and Faith (Bunny) Burton
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park St. Brownsville, PA today, February 12, 2014 from 2 to 8 PM., where a prayer service will be held on Thursday at 9:30AM followed by a funeral mass at 10:00AM in the Historic Church of St. Peter, Brownsville, PA with the Rev. Fr. Joseph Armamento as Celebrant. Interment in Lafayette Memorial Park.
Parish wake service will be held today at 6:00PM. A special thank you to the nurses, staff and caring friends at Golden Living Center, Uniontown, PA.
