Uniontown police said they are investigating after a man swiped a wallet containing $550 from another man in a business parking lot in Uniontown on Wednesday.

Officer John Kauer said that the incident occurred shortly before 6 p.m. when the suspect, whom police believe to be a Fayette County man, approached Adam Fowler and his wife Debra in the parking lot of a restaurant on Morgantown Street.

The Fowler’s told police that the man asked for $10 and when Adam Fowler withdrew his wallet to give the cash to the man, he grabbed the billfold and fled the scene in a red Pontiac Grand Am, Kauer said.

The man’s identity is being withheld pending the formalization of charges.
