1 min read

The Greene County Conservation District is hosting a free manure management workshop for farmers and livestock owners in the second-floor conference room of the Greene County Office Building, 93 E. High St. in Waynesburg on Friday.

State Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) regulations require anyone whose farm operations involve applying manure to land by fork, machine or naturally by animals is required to have a written manure management plan, regardless of the size of the operation, according to the conservation district. Conservation district staff can provide resources, help writing or developing manure management plans and meet with individuals to evaluate plans.

The DEP provided a grant for the workshop through the Pennsylvania Association of Conservation Districts Inc. Continuing education credits are available for attending this workshop. For information or to register for the workshop, call the Conservation District at 724-852-5278 or lrush@co.greene.pa.us.
