Columbia Gas replacing gas lines in Scottdale

1 min read

Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania is replacing more than 4,000 feet of natural gas lines in Scottdale.

The project, which involves replacing steel lines with plastic piping, will begin soon and should be completed in late June, the company said.

About 75 customers on Arthur Avenue, North Grove Street, Mulberry Street, Constitution Way and Fountain Mills Road will experience a temporary service interruption when they are transferred to the new pipe. Work will take place Mondays through Fridays between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., but some work could take place on Saturdays. Temporary lane closures will occur during working hours only. Columbia said it will contact customers prior to the service interruptions and to schedule service restoration.

Columbia is also relocating customers’ meters to the outside of their homes and replacing their service lines at no additional cost to customers. All Columbia employees and contractors carry identification cards bearing their name, photograph and identification number, the company said. Information on Columbia’s infrastructure improvement projects is available online at at www.ColumbiaGasPa.com.
