Homestead, farmstead applications due soon

1 min read

The Fayette County Tax Collectors Association said March 1 is the deadline for homeowners to apply for the Homestead/Farmstead Exemption credit.

Owners who received the Homestead/Farmstead Exemption credit last year don’t have to reapply unless there was a property transfer or the property use changed. Only the primary occupied home is eligible for the exclusion. The credit will appear on the school real estate tax bill and is funded by the gaming revenues.

Applications can be obtained by contacting the Fayette County Assessment office at 724-430-1350 or by logging on to www.fayetteproperty.org. Completed forms can be mailed to the Fayette County Assessment Office, 61 E. Main St., Uniontown PA 15401 (postmark accepted) or faxed to the office at 724-430-1356. Applications are available in the assessment office on the 4th floor of the Fayette County Courthouse.
