William ‘Bill’ Hixon, Sr.
William ‘Bill’ Hixon, Sr., 82, of Lemont Furnace, Pa., passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, in the Shadyside Hospital with his loving daughters at his side.
Born April 28, 1931, in Oliver, Pa., the son of the late Jesse and Catherine Hixon. In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years Hulda Blosser Hixon, his son, Haward and grandson, Raymond and daughter-in-law, Vivian. Also sister, May Luanne, brothers, Clyde, James, Franklin, Neil and David, Brothers-in-law, Kenneth, James and Eugene, sisters-in-law, Florence, Laverne, Ruth, Rose, Lillian, Dorothy Lee, Bertha and Maggie.
‘Bill’ was an active member of the Lemont Sportsman Club and a past member of the North Union Fire Department and Mt. Morris Sportsman Club and the VFW. He was a volunteer Fireman for West Leisenring for many years.
He is retired from US Steel Homestead where he met many of long friends.
He is survived by his loving children: William Hixon, Jr. of Florida, Bernadine Woods and husband, Glenn of Uniontown, Robert Hixon, Sr. of Lemont Furnace, Barry Hixon, Sr. of Lemont Furnace and Bruce Hixon and Belinda of Uniontown, Brad Hixon, Sr. of Lemont Furnace, Benita Blosser and her husband, Bob of Fairchance and May Luanne Bieter and her husband, Jerry of Texas; grandchildren: William Hixon, III., Marla, Debbie, Phillip, Bobbie Jean, Heather, Robert, Jr., Jacob, Christopher, Barry, Jr. Clifford, Brad, Jr. Clifford, Matthew, Robbie, Tiffany, Josh and Sarah; many great grandchildren: Sonya, Stephen, Quinn, Hunter, Jacob, Wesley, Paul, Andy and Zac.
Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same, for as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again!
Friends will be received in the KEZMARSKY FUNERAL HOME, 71 Pennsylvania Avenue, Uniontown, today, February 21, 2014, from 3 to 9 p.m. and Saturday morning until 10:30 a.m. the hour of service. Interment is private.
