Helen M. (Yagla) Zitney
Helen M. Yagla Zitney age 84, of Vanderbilt, Pa. passed away peacefully with her family by her side Saturday, February 22, 2014 at her residence.
She was born on Wednesday, March 20, 1929 in Connellsville, Pa. the daughter of John and Mary (Szewaryk) Yagla.
Helen was a member of the former Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Connellsville and a current member of the Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Connellsville.
She was a lifelong farmer who enjoyed working her family farm.
Helen will always be remembered for her end- less love and compassion.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter; a daughter, Gloria Zitney; and several siblings.
She is survived by her loving brother, John Yagla of Greensburg, Pa. her children: Walter and Sandy Zitney, Vanderbilt, Michele and David Lengvarsky of Flatwoods, Pa., Darlene and David Colbert of Vanderbilt and Rosemary and Ronald Matway of Perryopolis, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; also numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and Friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 9 p.m. in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME INC., Dennis N. Heath Jr., Supervisor, 418 North Pittsburgh Street, Connellsville, Pa., where Prayers of Transfer will be said on Wednesday, February 26, at 11 a.m.
A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. in Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 908 West Crawford Ave., Connellsville, with Rev. Father Robert T. Lubic as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Roman C a t h o l i c Cemetery, Connellsville, Pa.
