Fairchance man waives theft charges

A Fairchance man accused of bilking a Uniontown woman out of more than $1,500 in an alleged home improvement scam nearly four years ago waived all charges against him to court this morning.

Russell Lee Cramer, 61, was charged with home improvement fraud, theft by failure to make disposition and theft by deception following the incident in March of 2010.

Uniontown police Officer Matthew Painter said Magisterial District Judge Michael M. Metros issued a warrant for Cramer’s arrest following the charges and he has been in and out of police custody in the year’s since on those charges and for unrelated criminal charges.

Painter said he filed the charges against Cramer after he signed an agreement to perform construction work for Nancy Yekel at her home on North Street in Uniontown on March 13, 2010.
