Paul E. ‘Old Buddy’ Matrunics Sr., age 79, of Dunbar, Pa., passed away Tuesday, July 1st, 2014 at home, comforted by his loving family.

He was born Saturday, May 25, 1935 in Wilpin, Ligonier Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania the son of Paul E. Matrunics and Susan (Kislan) Matrunics

Prior to his retirement, Paul worked as a Welder for the former Bakers Machine and Welding Company, Connellsville.

Later, he worked Maintenance for Rockwell International, now Sensus Technologies in Uniontown, Pa.

Paul was a former member of the Moose Lodge 20, Uniontown, Pa.

Paul was a Lifetime member of the Dunbar Borough Fire Department and also the Fayette County Firemen’s League.

He was an avid bowler and golfer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Paula R. Lowery; son Ben William Matrunics; and grand children, Brittany Lowry and Adam Matrunics.

He is survived by his wife, Alice K. (Leonard) Matrunics; sons: Paul E. Matrunics Jr. and wife Elizabeth, Ray Matrunics and wife Ginger both of Dunbar, Pa.; daughters: Rosemarie Homer and Ed Smith of Dunbar, Mary Kay Wolfe and Charles T. Stefanick of Dunbar, Beverly Lowery and her husband Roy of Connellsville, Pa., Alice Lynn Matrunics and Ron Skinner, East Millsboro, Pa.; two brothers: John Matrunics and his wife Janice of Connellsville, Pa., Michael Matrunics and his wife Betty of Latrobe, Pa.; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.

Family and friends will be received today from 6 to 9 p.m. and Friday, July 4, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME INC., Dennis N. Heath Jr., Supervisor, 418 North Pittsburgh Street, Connellsville, PA 15425.

Additional visitation will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2014 from 9 a.m. until the hour of Funeral Services at 11 a.m. with Pastor Lee Maley and Chris Varney officiating.

Interment will follow in the Mount Auburn Cemetery, Dunbar, Pa.
