Genevieve Grace Glisan

Genevieve Grace Glisan, age 90, of Markleysburg, Pa passed away Friday, July 4, 2014 in Henry Clay Villa.

She was born Sunday, March 16, 1924 in Republic, Pa., to Ralph Newton Glisan and Eva Leona (Moore) Glisan.

Genevieve was a member of the Union Chapel Church.

She taught school in the Caney Valley one room school before teaching in Brentwood School District.

During World War II, Genevieve worked in an Airplane Factory and was one of the ‘Rosie the Rivetors’.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Ralph Glisan Jr. and Charles William Glisan; and a sister, Eva June Glisan Rosenberger

Surviving are a sister, Juanita M. McClay of Markleysburg, Pa.; many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, FARMINGTON, today (Tuesday, July 8) from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m

Additional viewing will be held Wednesday, July 9th, in the UNION CHAPEL CHURCH, Flat Rock Road, Markleysburg, Pa., from 10 until 11 a.m., the hour of Service. Pastor David Herring will officiate.

Interment will follow in Thomas Cemetery.
