Greene Co. Democrat Committee has new chairwoman
The Greene County Democrat Committee has a new leader at the helm.
The committee recently held a reorganization meeting to elect officers and set priorities for the coming year.
Maddie Warrick of Jefferson was unanimously elected to a four-year term as chairwoman. She replaces Greg Leathers, who chose not to seek an additional term.
Warrick is a kindergarten teacher at Carmichaels Area Elementary Center. She has served as a Democrat Committee member for the past eight years.
“Our main objective is to grow and energize the party throughout the summer months, with a focus on a delivering a victorious November elections,” Warrick said. “As newly elected officers, we are excited for the journey ahead and look forward to working with our amazing committee to achieve our objective.”
The following officers were elected to serve four-year terms:
n Greg Ayersman was elected vice chairman. Ayersman resides in Clarksville and is employed as the Greene County Department of Recreations supervisor of Mon View Park.
n Ryan Belski was elected second vice chairman. Belski resides in Rices Landing and is employed by state Rep. Pam Snyder, D-Jefferson, and also serves as the mayor of Rices Landing.
n Lila Ayersman was elected as secretary. Ayersman is from Mount Morris and works as a secretary in Perry Township.
n Dave Balint was elected treasurer. Balint resides in Waynesburg and is a certified public accountant and also the Greene County controller. The Greene County Democrat Committee is comprised of 88 members from 44 municipalities from across the county. They meet quarterly to plan events and provide leadership for the Democratic Party.
