Catherine “Kate” (Rock) Stipa
Catherine ‘Kate’ (Rock) Stipa, age 93, of Layton, Pa., passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 27, 2014 in the Golden Living Care Center, Uniontown, Pa.
She was born Sunday, August 1, 1920 in Layton, Pennsylvania daughter of William Rock and Rozella (Fisher) Rock.
She was a life time member of the Layton United Methodist Church
‘Kate’ was a very kind and loving lady.
She was very active at the Golden Living Center She especially enjoyed Bingo, spin the wheel, and all the PARTIES.
‘Kate’ loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were truly the ones that made her get up to face each new day! She will be truly missed by all who knew her and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Lawrence ‘Renzie’ Stipa; daughter Garnet Faye; parents; and sister, Alberta Bell.
Kate is survived by her daughter, Lois Morris and husband Dave; two sons: Larry Stipa and wife Nancy, and Leslie Stipa Sr.; grandchildren: Lorri Clem and husband Butch, David Morris and wife Lisa, John Stipa and wife Melissa, Leslie Stipa Jr.; great grandchildren: Chelsea Clem, Noah Stipa and Logan Stipa; and one brother, Walter ‘Poochie’ Rock and his wife Dorothy.
The family takes this opportunity to thank all the employees of Golden Living and AseraCare Hospice for their love and patient care of Kate.
Friends will be received in the BLAIR-LOWTHER FUNERAL HOME INC., 305 Rear Independence Street, Perryopolis, Pa., Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 until 11:00 a.m., the time of Service. Her past Pastor, Bryce King, will officiate the service.
Interment will follow in Mount Washington Cemetery, Perryopolis.
