Patsy Paul Petro, age 94, Uniontown, Pa., passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014 in the Uniontown Hospital.

He was the owner and operator of the South Union Bus Lines for many years.

He retired from the Fayette County Courthouse where he served as bailiff for the Honorable William J. Franks.

Patsy was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan and a member of the Pirate Gold Club.

He was responsible for bringing the Pirate Caravan to Uniontown. He and his wife enjoyed attending the Spring Training Camps in Bradenton, Florida.

In addition to his passion for the Pirates, he loved classical and popular music, and he wrote a collection of his poetry entitled ‘Moments of Reflection.’

Patsy was a member of Saint Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church and served as a church usher for many years.

Patsy loved his family and community most of all.

The South Union children and adults who rode his bus held a special place in his heart.

His greatest joy was spending time with his wife Sara, his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Sara J. (Franks) Petro; and loving daughters: Mary Ann (and James Grossman of San Francisco), Patricia (and Sam Gulino) and Paula (and Dan O’Connell) of Uniontown, Pa.; grand children: Amanda and Ian Kalin, Michael and Anthony Gulino, Dante O’Connell; and one great grandson, Trysten Kalin; as well as his brothers-in-law: Julius Franks and Ralph and Monica Franks of Uniontown; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was pre-deceased by his parents, Frank and Anna Petro; a brother, Anthony; and a sister, Marie.

Friends will be received in STEPHEN E. KEZMARSKY III FUNERAL HOME at 71 Pennsylvania Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., today from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Services will be held Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. at the Saint Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Michael W. Matusak, V.F., Pastor, as Celebrant.

Interment will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Uniontown.

Tuesday in the Funeral Home: Parish Wake will be held at 2 p.m. and the Altar Society will recite the Rosary immediately following. The Sons of Italy will conduct their ritual at 7:30 p.m.
