Dorothy Louise (Whetsel) Reagan
Dorothy Louise (Whetsel) Reagan, age 78 of Masontown, Pa., died peacefully on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at the Uniontown Hospital with her family at her side.
She was born in Masontown, Pa., Sunday, May 10, 1936 daughter of Van Whetsel and Louise (Fornera) Whetsel.
She retired in 1998 from the Commonwealth of P e n n s y l v a n i a Department of Public Welfare after 30 years as a Case Worker.
She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, past President of All Saints Christian Mothers for four years, a member of Ladies of Charity, a Helping Hands Volunteer, and a Lector and a Choir member at All Saints Catholic Church, now the Saint Francis of Assisi Parish, Masontown, Pa.
Her hobbies were baking, crocheting, crafting and going to dinner with friends.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved attending all the sporting events her son and her grandchildren participated in.
Dorothy was a heart and cancer survivor.
She was predeceased by her parents; and her sister, Grace Oktela.
Dorothy is survived by her son and his family, whom she adored: William Patrick Reagan and his wife Toni of Masontown, grandson, Patrick Reagan of Savannah, Georgia, and granddaughter, Jordyn Reagan of California, Pa.; brother, John Edward Whetsel of Valparaiso, Indiana; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR. FUNERAL HOME, 7 River Ave., Masontown, Pa., today, June 1, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Monday, June 2, until 9:30 a.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in Saint Francis of Assisi Parish Church, 101 West Church Avenue Masontown, Pa., with Rev. Father William G. Berkey as Celebrant.
Interment will follow at Saint Agnes Cemetery, Masontown, Pa.
Parish Rosary will be recited in the Funeral Home today at 3:00 p.m.
