Over the past two years, we’ve celebrated a lot of new beginnings in this column. Fayette TV has formed more partnerships in the community, expanded our online presence, debuted programs, and organized community events like First Night Fayette and the Pennsylvania Literary Festival.

I am about to embark on a new beginning of my own, and I wanted to share this news with you, the members of our community whose support has sustained Fayette TV and has helped to provide me with the great blessing of making a living through doing work that I love.

Effec-tive July 1, I will be assuming the role of district executive for the Westmoreland Fayette Council, a nonprofit organization serving Fayette and Westmoreland counties. The council exists to help deliver programs such as Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, and the co-ed Venturing, Career Exploring, and Learning for Life programs to young people in our two-county area.

As a self-described “work in progress” – a man who is continually learning, growing, and forcing myself beyond the boundaries of my comfort zone – I am excited by this new challenge. I believe that to whom much is given, much is expected, and that my job with the council will call upon me to give of myself in a novel way, and hopefully to impact a new group of people in a positive light.

The reality that I will no longer be serving as Coordinated 360’s full-time creative director and Fayette TV’s team leader is a difficult thing to wrap my head around. However, my passion for the community television movement will remain. While it won’t be quite as often, you’ll still see me helping out at the station and doing what I can to advance this TV initiative that is driven by you, the good people of Fayette County.

Fayette TV offers a really special resource for our little county, and there is still much untapped potential for this station. I can’t wait to see what the future holds, and I’m so thankful to my supervisors, colleagues, community business partners/sponsors, and all of you for believing in Fayette TV and in me personally.
