A North Union Township man is accused of stealing his mother’s credit card and using it for about $11,000 in various purchases.

According to the criminal complaint, Robert John Haragos, 24, formerly of Fan Hollow Road, is charged with 54 counts of access device fraud and one count of theft after he allegedly used a Sears MasterCard that belonged to his mother, Kathy Rittenhouse of Fan Hollow Road.

State police allege that when Rittenhouse discovered the credit card was missing in early April, she contacted Sears.

She learned that her credit card’s password and the phone number associated with the account had been changed.

And, Rittenhouse discovered that she owed $11,088, the complaint stated.

Rittenhouse told police that she did not use the credit card, authorize anyone to use or make any payments to the credit card, or to change any account information for the account.

Police allege that they reviewed the bill and noticed numerous transactions were made at Walmart and Sheetz stores in Fayette County.

The complaint said Haragos moved from his mother’s home on Feb. 11.
