PennDOT posts road maintenance projects
Chris Sleighter, Fayette County maintenance manager, with the state Department of Transportation (PennDOT), has announced the following tentative work plan for the week beginning Monday.
n Bridge culvert repair is scheduled on state Route 857 in Haydentown.
n Bridge flushing is scheduled on various state roads in the Adah-Palmer area.
n Crack sealing is scheduled on state Route 2027 (Connellsville Street).
n Shoulder cutting is scheduled on state Routes 4030, 4032, 1043 and 1014 in the Buena Vista area and state Route 281.
n Ditch cleaning is scheduled on state Routes 1023 and 1051 in the Breakneck area.
n Rock lining is scheduled on state Routes 1023 and 1051 in the Breakneck area and state Routes 1009 and 1054 in the White area.
n Patching is scheduled on state Route 3005 in Woodridge and various state roads on Dunbar Mountain.
n Shoulder repair is scheduled on state Routes 1009 and 1054 in the White area.
n Pipe repair is scheduled on state Route 119 in the Morris Crossroads area.
Signs will be updated, downed signs will be reset and work orders will be addressed on various state roads throughout the county.
All maintenance activities are conducted as the weather permits. PennDOT said motorists should drive with caution throughout all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the use of headlights.
PennDOT has a 24-hour toll-free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concern.
The number also can be used to report locations of dead deer on state highways. The number is 1-800-FIX ROAD (1-800-349-7623).
