Roy “Ollie” Baumgardner

Roy “Ollie” Baumgardner, age 71, of Vesta Six, Pa., died on Sunday, May 4, 2014 in his home.

He was born December 11, 1942 in Denbo, Pa., son of Charles “Chucu” Baumgardner and Anna Mae Lunt Baumgardner.

For several years he worked as an under ground Miner for J&L Steel Corporation’s Vesta No. 5 Mine.

Mr. Baumgardner was a longtime coach of the Victory Club Softball Team.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved to make people laugh, even through his darkest times.

‘Ollie’ loved being at the river.

He enjoyed cooking and felt that dessert should always be served before a meal.

Deceased are his parents; and three sisters, Mary Margaret Baumgardner, Sharon McIntosh and Patricia ‘Patty’ Woods.

Surviving are two daughters Jennifer Pagac of Ortonville, Michigan and R e g i n a Giffin (Woodrow) of Denbo, Pa.; one son, Roy C. Baumgardner (Andrea) of Denbo, Pa.; seven grandchildren: Samantha G i f f i n, C a s e y Baumgardner, C o d y Tarr, Woodrow ‘Bob’ G i f f i n, A l i n a Baumgardner, Brennan Pagac and Lily Pagac; three brothers: Eugene Baumgardner of Akron, O h i o, J e r o m e Baumgardner of Willoughby, Ohio and David Baumgardner of Denbo, Pa.; one sister, K a r e n Laucher of Indianapolis, Indiana; several nieces and nephews; and his former wife and best friend, Sandrea Baumgardner.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m., the hour of Service in JOHN B. GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, PA 15313 with Eugene Baumgardner officiating.

Interment is private.
