Lena (Orlandi) Abd
Lena Orlandi Abd, age 87, of Ellisville, Missouri formerly of Washington, Pennsylvania died on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
She was born January 17, 1927 in Brownsville Pa., the daughter of the Gaetano Orlandi and Elsie (Cicchetti) Orlandi.
Mrs. Abd was a life time member of The Historic Church of Saint Peter in Brownsville, Pa., and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Washington, Pa., since 1963.
She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America.
She was employed for over 25 years as an Office Manager for GC Motors, Brownsville, Pa.
She, along with her husband George were part owners of The Washington Restaurant and she was an employee of Lang’s Store.
Mrs. Abd was a volunteer for Washington Hospital Auxiliary.
She had a passion for the game of Bingo. It wasn’t unusual to see her at many different functions enjoying Bingo.
She loved to golf and was a member of the Nemacolin Country Club where she had met her husband and went on to become his wife.
Her true passion in life was her granddaughters and moving to Missouri in 2011 gave her the opportunity to spend time with them and watch proudly as they grew to young ladies.
On November 15, 1958 she married George M. Abd. He died April 29, 2002.
Surviving are a son; George A. (Lisa) Abd of Chesterfield, Missouri; a brother, Augustine (Marge) Orlandi of McDonald, Pa.; a sister, Louise Mendish of Brownsville, Pa.; a sister-in-law, Lorraine Orlandi of California state; two granddaughters: Elissa Marie Abd and Amanda Michelle Abd; nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Abd was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Angelo Orlandi, James Orlandi; a sister-in-law, Francis Orlandi; and a brother-in-law, Joseph Mendish.

A Blessing Service will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Funeral Home.
Entombment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Church Cemetery Mausoleum.
