Brownsville council discusses road, bridge repairs
BROWNSVILLE — Borough council Tuesday discussed needed repairs to Century Road over Dunlap Creek and the Charles Street bridge over the creek.
Councilman Jack Lawver said the borough could apply to the Fayette County Redevelopment Authority for money to fix the Charles Street bridge.
The bridge deck needs to be repaved, the sidewalks should be replaced and one of the bridge piers is crumbling, Council President James Lawver said.
He said council should look for sources of money to fix the bridge.
The borough has all the materials needed to fix Century Road and has asked the Fayette County bridge department for assistance with the project, Jack Lawver said.
In other business, council approved renting an office in the borough building to state Rep. Pam Snyder, D-Jefferson, for a district office for $200 a month.
