Lola E. (Allum) Lewis
Lola E. (Allum) Lewis, 90, formerly of Dilliner, Pa., died Thursday, May 15, 2014 in Missoula, Montana, following a brief illness.
Born in Uffington, West Virginia on June 15, 1923 she was the daughter of late James E. Allum and Susie Jane (Bissett) Allum.
During World War II, Lola worked in an airplane factory.
Throughout the years, she was employed at Montgomery Ward, the Accounting Department of University Hospital, and then retired from the Davis and Lynch Glass Factory, all in Morgantown, West Virginia.
A loving mother and grandmother, she was able to spend the last several years living with her children, first with her daughter in Mertztown, Pa., and later with her son in Montana.
Deceased are her husband, Frank Lewis on January 19, 1996; three children in infancy; three brothers, James, Enlo and Daniel Allum; two sisters, Myrle Robinson on February 13, 2014 and Mary Ellen Southerland.
Surviving are her two children and their spouses: Peggy and Todd McQueen of Mertztown, Pa., and Alan and Sherry Lewis of Stevensville, Montana; two grandsons: Jason Lewis, Craig Lewis three granddaughters: Wendy Hendershot, Becky Palm and Bethany Ward; and one brother, G a r y A l l u m o f Youngstown, Ohio.
Friends will be received in RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, Pa., Philip S. Rishel, Owner and Director, on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, May 21, until 11:00 a.m., the hour of Service with Rev. Joseph Hicks officiating.
Interment will follow in Wolf’s Cemetery, Dilliner, Pa.
