One of two sisters accused of mugging an elderly woman in a South Union Township store parking lot was sentenced Monday in Fayette County Court.

Judge Steve P. Leskinen sentenced Brittany Joyce Boyd, 25, of North Union Township to nine to 20 years in prison with restitution.

Boyd admitted that on March 22, 2013, she forcefully took 82-year-old Mary Yourchik’s purse, who Boyd said ran after her and fell down as she tried to get the purse back.

Boyd entered a general plea of guilty May 6 to charges of robbery, aggravated and simple assault, theft, access device fraud and three counts of endangering the welfare of children. She pleaded no contest to a conspiracy to commit robbery charge.
