Dennis ” Denny” Michael Balogh Sr.

Dennis Michael Balogh Sr., ‘Denny’, age 68, of Nemacolin, Pa., passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on Friday May 23, 2014 in his home.
Dennis was born on Wednesday, August 22, 1945 in Nemacolin, Pa., the son of George Balogh and Mary Frances (Artley) Balogh.
On July 29, 1972, he married the love of his life, Mary Lou (Dickey) Balogh, who survives.
He was the loving father of Melissa Balogh, Melanie (Olin) Trauth, Dennis Balogh Jr. (Lyndsay), and Jeffrey Balogh.
Surviving are his two sisters Sandra Yackmack Sutton of Kittanning, Pa., and Georgiann (Jack) Klein of Punta Gorda, Florida; brothers-in-laws James Dickey, Joey Dickey, David (Susan) Dickey all of Carmichaels, Pa.; sister-in-law, Suzanna (Rick) Gency of Chesapeake Virginia; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Richard ‘Dick’ Balogh.
Denny graduated from Carmichaels Area High School in 1963.
After graduating, he joined the United States Navy where he served on the U.S.S. Wright during the Vietnam conflict.
Denny worked at the Nemacolin Mine for 17 years until its final closing day in 1986.
For the past 25 years, he has been employed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
He first worked at the Western Center in Canonsburg, Pa., until it closed.
He then transferred to his current position at S.C.I. Greene.
Denny was a kind and compassionate man that lived each day for his wife and family.
He will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends.
Friends will be received in the LESAKO FUNERAL HOME INC., 204 Dowlin Avenue, Carmichaels, PA 15320 (724.966.5100), Paul M. Lesako, Funeral Director //Supervisor, on Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, May 27, from 10 to 11 a.m. The Funeral Service will begin in the Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m.
Interment will follow in Laurel Point Cemetery Carmichaels, Pa.
Full Military Rites will be accorded by American Legion Post 400 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3491 and the United States Navy.
