Frances Helen (Oris) DeFrank
Frances Helen (Oris) DeFrank passed away at her home with her loving family by her side on Sunday, May 25, 2014.
She was born Saturday, September 6, 1930 in Hopwood, Pa., daughter of Frank Oris and Blanche (Dorulla) Oris.
Mrs. DeFrank once attended Saint Mary (Nativity) and also Saint Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church.
Frances was named ‘Queen’ in the 2013 National Road Festival.
She retired in 1992 from Laurel Highlands School District.
Frances was Cafeteria Manager at Hutchinson Elementary School for 25 years.
She looked forward to going to work with her now late friends, Mary Conway, Shirley Gunro and Maxine White
She enjoyed watching her students grow into adults.
Frances was also Treasurer of the local union AFCME 2554.
Frances was a very special person, especially to her grandson Ashley.
She will always be remembered as a kind, gentle and loving soul.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Theodore Patsy DeFrank; a much loved nephew, Matthew Oris.
Surviving are daughter Teddy DeFrank Shoaf; grandson, whom she helped raise, Ashley Shoaf and his wife Laura (Bobick) Shoaf; her much adored great granddaughters: Peyton Ashley, Giada Bella, and Quinn Brecken; a special brother, Frank Oris and his wife Mildred; and her granddogs: Vito and Italia ‘Damn Dog’; and special buddy, Gotti.
Friends will be received in DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, HOPWOOD, Pa., on Wednesday, May 28, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, May 29, 2014 until 10 a.m. when a Blessing Service will be held with Rev. Father Michael W. Matusak, V.F., Pastor, officiating.
