Volunteer fire department receives grant
WASHINGTON — The Federal Emergency Management Agency, under the Department of Homeland Security, has awarded $22,781 in grants to the Markleysburg-Henry Clay Township Volunteer Fire Department for operations and safety.
“Pennsylvania’s firefighters endure risk and sacrifice every day to keep their community safe,” U.S. Sen. Bob Casey, D-Pa., said in announcing the grant. “This money will help provide Fayette County’s firefighters with the resources they need to ensure their safety and the safety of those they serve.”
Funds are awarded through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant program, which aims to strengthen the health and safety of the nation’s first-responders and those they serve.
